Garden

Growing Together
St Brigid's school is fortunate to have a large green area attached to the school. Recently this area has been landscaped and we now have large allotment beds and a polytunnel where the children can plant their own vegetables and flowers.
We also have poultry. The children are taught how to look after and handle hens without 'flapping' and we collect the eggs each day which are bartered for items or work needed in the garden. This had been a huge success .
A wildlife area with a pond has been provided and we have already had an influx of new fauna, the favourite of which are the tadpoles!
Parents and children are encouraged to come and work in the garden at weekends under the guidance of Mrs Jolley and the garden team. Our contact numbers are in the Parish Magazine. Volunteers are always welcome.
